"Trades in America"
by Thomas Webber
America was
founded on trades dating back to the earliest Thanksgiving,
when pilgrims traded indians guns for turkeys and stuffing
and sweet potatoe pie. It looked like the indians got
the best deal, but we were smarter and did not trade bullets
for the guns. And so we won the American-Indian war because
we still kept some guns and their bows and arrows were no
match for our bullets.
Trades are only worth trading if
you get something better than the person you are trading with.
For example, I once had a David Robinson Rookie of the Year
card. I said it was worth 40 dollars to this kid named
Rain and I told him he could just give me ten bucks for it.
And you know what? He did! The card was really
worth like 2 dollars, maybe, but I was smart because I showed
him David Robinson's Rookie card instead of the R.O.Y. (that
stands for Rookie of the Year) and that card was really worth
$40. So it's important to be a good trader or else you
might be a "traitor!"
So that is
a little history about great trades in America. It is
also note worthy to note that jobs are some times referred
to as "Trades." That is because you trade
money for a service, like blacksmithing or being the guy that
puts horseshoes on horses. Also, there are tricks to
a trade, but I won't go into that.
Now on to
the main point of this paper. I would like to propose
a great idea for trading. I believe that you can turn
something small, like a pencil, into something big, like a
car, simply by making a few good trades. Here is how:
First, trade someone something for the pencil, like maybe
a pen or something that has more value than a pencil.
There will be someone out there that really wants that pencil.
Okay so now you have a pen or something. Now trade that
for something with slightly more value, like a knife or a
better pen. Keep trading the object for something slightly
better and you will eventually have a car!
In conclusion, America is known
for it's trading. Secondly, always make good trades
so that you are getting the better thing, and finally, try
my trading idea and you can have a car real soon.
