Assignment:  Choose a popular television program and analyze the social commentary the show conveys.

I have chose the Simpsons to do this assignment for because like what you said in class there's alot to analyze in these shows. I didn't choose South Park or Family Guy because they arent as funny as Simpsons and they only copy it.  But I never watch those other shows because that would be cheating on the Simpsons (I don't even watch them when you show clips in class but I listen to what you say about them witch should count.)

The Simpsons began in 1988? on the Fox network and was created by a man named Matt Groening.  Not many people know but Mr. Groening's initials MG are what make up Homer Simpsons hair (DVD Bonus Features).  That proves how the writer's put there commentary in the show by doing these secret messages or sublimal messages to try to get people to like Matt Groening.

My favorite episode is one with Stampy, the elephant.  Bart calls the elephant Stampy because I think when it stamps its hoof down on everything and brakes it.  I listened to the commentary on the DVD for the social commentary and they talk about how much fun they had writing this episode and that its one of there favorites just like its mine.  But they didn't talk about social commentary so you must be wrong about the Simpsons having alot of it, I believe the creators of the show more than you even though I think your really smart too.
